Mod Note: Entry Moderation, Community Issues, Promotion
Hello once again, fellow permies.

Moderated posting has been disabled. So that means you're free to post without your entry having to sit in a queue. This was done for a few reasons, but primarily because I didn't want to stifle members. So the community is self-stifling now, meaning your fellow members will keep posts on track and relevant to the community (nicely, I hope). Of course, your maintainer team will still be around to catch any major issues ("buy v 1 a 6 r a") and address any comments/concerns.

Community issues that will be addressed in the near future include better taggage (likely courtesy the qfemale), suggestions regarding this community to be made in suggestions (they're half-written; they just need a few coats of wax and a polish), and a style (before a new style for this community becomes a running joke). If anyone has anything they feel needs to be addressed, or just have questions on an issue, please do let us know.

701 permanent account holders have joined this community (as of this post). The majority of that growth was in the first couple months of this community's existance. This community is already a year old! (Happy belated birthday, permmembers!!) Without you permies, that never would have happenned, for seriously. I'm not much for speechifying, but I still thought it was worth mentioning. Continue sucking members in, if you can!

lj_nifty is currently voting on a new maintainer. If you're a member of that community, consider voting. It's officially an official community, so your vote will directly effect that community's continued development (and perhaps LiveJournal's development, in some manner).

suggestions is also seeking a new co-maintainer (or two). They aren't voting, however, self-nominations are accepted. Consider volunteering if you'd like to help improve the user-experience of those using suggestions (much needed, in my opinion).

Is there any particular reason why I'm listed as a member of this community, however I'm not listed as having posting access?

OK, looking at...

*your profile: shows you have posting access
*community management, members page: shows you have posting access

However, looking at...

*community's userinfo page, you are not on the list of members with posting access.

Strangely enough, there are 701 members of the community, and 701 members listed with posting access. So, I'm inclined to believe you have posting access, while your name isn't displaying on the community's userinfo page...some sort of bug, perhaps?

Try making a (temporary) test post to the community, if you would?
qfemale: Misc - Not funny as * but...qfemale on March 6th, 2007 03:03 pm (UTC)

That's because not all members are listed there. I don't know why LJ does that but it only shows a small portion of all members that do have posting access.

It does the same with 206 as I was quite surprised to see that such a small list could hold 2300 username. No I didn't count but it was obvious since the list has the same size everywhere that it doesn't list all members.

Weird. I wonder what the criteria is for determining which names are displayed.

Either way, problem solved. :D

... at least that is what I figured.

Yes I wonder too what the criteria is/are.

This is interesting. I will try to make a test post (then I'll delete it if successful)

You do have posting access, I already verified that in the members area.

But please make a post if it will make you feel better ;-)

LoL I misunderstood what you were saying above.

I did make a test post, and yes you were right, it did work. What a bizarre thing for lj to do (only list some of the people).

Thank you for letting me experiment ;)

Post has been deleted.

That was adudeabides, not me ;-)
And no you didn't misunderstand him.
