I loved getting small snippets of time from LJ as a Paid Member when there were major outages or site problems. It showed great customer service and willingness to go an extra step. As Perm Members we already have access to all the perks. A suggestion for LJ might be to give us the occasional Virtual Gift to bestow. I have used a few and they are fun. Would not using this as an additional perk on occasion also have the benefit to LJ to publicize the Virtual Gifts?
Just an idea but I think maybe a good one for all involved......

Rather than answering everyone I'll just comment generally.

1) Great customer service means exceeding expectations. LJ seems to share this philosophy. When they screw up they try to make it right. When the problem is not their fault they still try to compensate for their customers pain. I was trying to think how they could make (many) perm members happy.

2) VGifts ARE silly. They cost nothing to LJ. If you don't want 'em, fine. I don't text, use Voice Posts, IM and I don't need 10GB of storage. I don't use most of the features available to me. This is something silly, yes, and fun to some of us.
