Anyone know how to start a syndicated journal?

Did you check FAQ for the answer to your question? http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqcat=syn

I assume you did. I wasn't able to find anything on creating syndicated feeds, but I am at work and could only do a brief search.

I did check FAQ, and you're right, there isn't anything there on how to start one, just that you can if you are paid.

For future reference, iff you click the "Read more" link in the first of those FAQs, you are brought to http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=137&view=full, which has the instructions.

Yes, see that's what I found too but wasn't able to do more than glance over it at the time. Same as xoder's instructions below?

See, that FAQ didn't strike me as having to do with how to create syndicated accounts, so I didn't click read more. I did on a whole bunch of others. I think it would have been useful if it was its own question.

Yeah, I've found that on one or two topics before, but usually reading everything in full gets me to the answer. Still, maybe it's worthwhile you putting that to LJ and asking if they would create a separate "how to" FAQ for creating syndicated accounts.

What do you want to do? Syndicate an RSS feed? If so, visit here.

Syndicate your journal. Try (yourjournal).livejournal.com/data/rss or /atom

At the bottom of the LiveJournal Syndication Page, you will see a section called "Add Feed by URL". Paste the URL for the site's feed. If it already exists in LJ, it will be added to your friends list. If it does not exist, and you are paid or permanent, then you will be asked to give a name. If you're not paid or permanent, then no dice.

This is covered at http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=137&q=syndication&lang= as well.

That sounds like the answer to what I was wondering about. I didn't think to ask here though. Thanks!
